L\u2019hiver est vraiment une saison que tout le monde voit diff\u00e9remment. Certaines personnes aiment \u00e7a, certaines personnes d\u00e9testent le froid. \u00c0 mon avis, cela d\u00e9pend de l\u2019endroit dans le monde o\u00f9 vous vivez cette saison magique.<\/p>

Permettez-moi de partager avec vous mes sentiments et mes exp\u00e9riences sur l'hiver en tant que personne ayant v\u00e9cu dans diff\u00e9rents pays au cours des ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Vous ne le savez peut-\u00eatre pas, mais je suis n\u00e9e en Hongrie et j'ai de bons souvenirs d'enfance de l'hiver l\u00e0-bas. Je me souviens encore que j'ai ador\u00e9 la neige car nous pouvions jouer des heures dehors avec mes camarades.\u00a0<\/p>

En Hongrie, nous avions beaucoup de neige et nous avions toujours un No\u00ebl blanc. Il faisait tr\u00e8s froid aussi et il n\u2019\u00e9tait pas si inhabituel d\u2019avoir -10 ou -20 \u00b0 C comme temp\u00e9rature la plus basse.<\/p>

La Hongrie est un pays assez pauvre et quand j'\u00e9tais enfant, les sports d'hiver comme le ski, le snowboard, le patinage sur glace, etc. \u00e9taient consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme un sport de luxe. Personne n'avait vraiment l'argent pour le mat\u00e9riel de ski et les pistes n'\u00e9taient pas aussi bien d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es qu'aujourd'hui. De plus, la Hongrie est un pays assez plat, le plus haut sommet est de 1014m.<\/p>

Nous, les enfants, il nous restait principalement la luge et les combats de boules de neige.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Au fil des ann\u00e9es j'ai quitt\u00e9 mon pays, j'\u00e9tais occup\u00e9 par la vie et je n'ai donc pas vraiment remarqu\u00e9 que les hivers avaient radicalement chang\u00e9 en Europe. Ils sont devenus de plus en plus doux chaque ann\u00e9e et nous avons de moins en moins de neige maintenant. De plus, l'hiver en Europe est tr\u00e8s humide, nous nous retrouvons donc avec une sensation de temp\u00e9rature beaucoup plus froide qu'elle ne l'est vraiment.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

La premi\u00e8re fois j\u2019ai pass\u00e9 l\u2019hiver \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger, c\u2019\u00e9tait en Angleterre. Et pour \u00eatre honn\u00eate, je ne me souviens pas d\u2019avoir vu de la neige l\u00e0-bas pendant le temps que j\u2019ai pass\u00e9 \u00e0 Woodstock \/ Oxford. C'\u00e9tait le temps typique pour lequel l'Angleterre est c\u00e9l\u00e8bre : pluie, pluie, pluie et encore plus de pluie ...<\/p>

Quand je regarde en arri\u00e8re, je dois dire que j'ai de beaux souvenirs de neige en Ecosse (o\u00f9 j'ai v\u00e9cu plus d'un an). Tout le climat y est diff\u00e9rent, donc l'hiver n'est pas si enneig\u00e9 non plus. Mais quand ils ont de la neige, c'est tr\u00e8s magique.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

L'hiver en Suisse<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Apr\u00e8s l'\u00c9cosse, j'ai d\u00e9m\u00e9nag\u00e9 en Suisse o\u00f9 j'ai retrouv\u00e9 le m\u00eame climat que j'avais en Hongrie. Enfin, presque\u2026\u00a0<\/p>

Les hivers suisses sont en fait tr\u00e8s agr\u00e9ables si vous vivez dans les montagnes. Mais si vous habitez sur le \u2018plateau\u2019, quelque part dans une ville situ\u00e9e entre 300 et 500 m d\u2019altitude, il y a rarement de la neige au sol.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Je me souviens encore de la premi\u00e8re fois quand j\u2019ai d\u00e9m\u00e9nag\u00e9 dans les montagnes suisses (\u00e0 environ 1000 m d'altitude), d\u00e8s la premi\u00e8re ann\u00e9e, nous avions tellement de neige que certains jours, c'\u00e9tait un peu difficile \u00e0 g\u00e9rer. Il neigeait sans arr\u00eat pendant une semaine. Et quand \u00e7a s'est arr\u00eat\u00e9, j\u2019ai eu de la peine \u00e0 voir les b\u00e2timents autour.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

C'\u00e9tait en Suisse o\u00f9 j'ai appris \u00e0 skier. Eh bien, c'\u00e9tait en Suisse et en France car on peut facilement monter sur les remont\u00e9es m\u00e9caniques en Suisse et redescendre sur les pistes en France. Et vice-versa. Le Jura et ls Alpes suisses \/ fran\u00e7aises sont un endroit id\u00e9al pour apprendre et perfectionner votre technique de ski.<\/p>

C'\u00e9tait aussi en Suisse que j'ai essay\u00e9 le patinage sur glace pour la premi\u00e8re fois\u2026 C'\u00e9tait tellement amusant de patiner avec des amis mais disons que j'ai encore besoin de beaucoup de pratique avant de tenter une pirouette de danse artistique.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Autant j'aimais mes sports d'hiver nouvellement appris, autant j'aimais de moins en moins l\u2019humidit\u00e9 hivernale qui stagnait sur l\u2019Europe de l\u2019ouest. J'ai ainsi commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 faire davantage d'activit\u00e9s en salle en hiver car en Suisse il n'y a pas grand-chose \u00e0 faire \u00e0 moins de monter \u00e0 la montagne pour pratiquer des sports d'hiver.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Quelques ann\u00e9es apr\u00e8s avoir v\u00e9cu en Suisse, j'ai rencontr\u00e9 mon mari et juste apr\u00e8s notre mariage, nous avons eu l'opportunit\u00e9 d'aller vivre en Floride pendant un certain temps.<\/p>

Pour la premi\u00e8re fois, j'\u00e9tais si heureux de laisser ces hivers derri\u00e8re nous et de profiter du temps chaud du \u2018Sunshine State\u2019 aux \u00c9tats-Unis. J'ai jur\u00e9 que je ne veux plus jamais affronter le froid hivernal et la neige de ma vie ...<\/p>

L'hiver en Floride s'est av\u00e9r\u00e9 tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rent la premi\u00e8re fois. C'\u00e9tait dr\u00f4le de voir les palmiers d\u00e9cor\u00e9s partout \u00e0 la p\u00e9riode de No\u00ebl. Et c\u2019\u00e9tait assez agr\u00e9able de ne pas avoir de v\u00eatements d'hiver ni de chaussures \u00e0 enfiler, mais plut\u00f4t des sandales et des tongs pour passer le Nouvel An.<\/p>

Peu que je sache, quelqu'un l\u00e0-haut a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 que le temps agr\u00e9able et chaud pour nous \u00e9tait termin\u00e9 pour l'hiver. Cette fois, nous avons eu l'occasion de d\u00e9m\u00e9nager au Canada. La premi\u00e8re chose que j'ai dite est ok, mais je veux d'abord voir comment est le v\u00e9ritable hiver canadien, car \u00e0 ce moment-l\u00e0 j'\u00e9tais toujours convaincu que je ne voulais plus vivre dans un endroit avec un hiver humide.\u00a0<\/p>

Vous voyez, en Europe, le Canada a la r\u00e9putation d\u2019avoir des l'hivers longs et froids et d\u2019avoir beaucoup trop de neige. En fait, ce n\u2019est pas si mal du tout! J'ai \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s surprise de voir autant de gens dehors faire toutes sortes d'activit\u00e9s hivernales (m\u00eame lorsque la temp\u00e9rature \u00e9tait aussi basse que -20 \u00b0 C).\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

J'ai \u00e9t\u00e9 vraiment surprise de voir \u00e0 quel point j'ai ador\u00e9 notre premi\u00e8re visite au Canada pendant l'hiver. Peut-\u00eatre parce que nous avons eu de la chance et beaucoup de jours ensoleill\u00e9s (et comme nous le savons, le soleil rend tout beaucoup mieux).\u00a0<\/p>

Mais ne vous inqui\u00e9tez pas, s'il fait si froid apr\u00e8s le coucher du soleil, il vous suffit d'aller chercher l'une des nombreuses chemin\u00e9es ext\u00e9rieures et de vous r\u00e9chauffer un peu.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

La premi\u00e8re chose que j\u2019ai remarqu\u00e9e, c\u2019est que m\u00eame si je voyais notre thermom\u00e8tre afficher une temp\u00e9rature tr\u00e8s basse, la sensation de froid \u00e9tait tout \u00e0 fait supportable. En Europe, j'avais souvent froid car l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re hivernale \u00e9tait humide. Mais au Canada, m\u00eame si la temp\u00e9rature est plus basse qu\u2019en Europe, j\u2019ai constat\u00e9 que l\u2019air semble plus sec, donc le froid devient beaucoup plus acceptable.\u00a0<\/p>

Toutefois, apr\u00e8s avoir visit\u00e9 diff\u00e9rents endroits au Canada, je dois dire que cette constatation n\u2019est pas identique partout.<\/p>

Le Canada est un pays immense (il a m\u00eame 4 fuseaux horaires diff\u00e9rents). Donc, avoir un hiver sec est vrai sur la c\u00f4te est, plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment jusqu'\u00e0 la Ville de Qu\u00e9bec (\u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s). Ce que j'ai remarqu\u00e9, c'est que le temps est diff\u00e9rent m\u00eame \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al. Il fait g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement 5 \u00b0 C plus chaud et, en hiver, il y a moins de neige qu'\u00e0 Qu\u00e9bec. Si vous allez plus loin vers Toronto jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la c\u00f4te ouest, il fait encore plus humide et plus doux.\u00a0<\/p>

Donc, apr\u00e8s avoir d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de saisir notre chance et de changer l'hiver en Floride pour l'hiver qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois, une autre chose m'a frapp\u00e9e : la neige m\u2019a tellement manqu\u00e9! Cela ne m\u2019est pas venu \u00e0 l\u2019esprit avant la premi\u00e8re vraie chute de neige canadienne: j\u2019ai manqu\u00e9 de la regarder de l\u2019int\u00e9rieur. J'ai compl\u00e8tement oubli\u00e9 \u00e0 quel point l'hiver et le paysage enneig\u00e9 peuvent \u00eatre magiques.<\/p>

Depuis, j\u2019appr\u00e9cie beaucoup de notre s\u00e9jour au Qu\u00e9bec. Cela m'a redonn\u00e9 mon amour pour l'hiver et la neige. Il n'y a aucun doute pour moi, sur l'attraction hivernale num\u00e9ro un au Qu\u00e9bec : c\u2019est d\u00e9finitivement une visite \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4tel de glace. C\u2019est quelque chose que je n\u2019avais jamais vu de ma vie et je crois sinc\u00e8rement que cette attraction devrait figurer sur la liste des incontournables de tout le monde. Je me souviens encore \u00e0 quel point j'\u00e9tais excit\u00e9e pendant des jours avant ma premi\u00e8re visite. Et est-ce que j\u2019allais \u00eatre d\u00e9\u00e7ue ? Pas du tout ! Encore une fois, il faisait une belle journ\u00e9e ensoleill\u00e9e, m\u00eame si j\u2019ai ressenti la chaleur du soleil qu'\u00e0 l'ext\u00e9rieur de l'h\u00f4tel de glace. \u00c0 l'int\u00e9rieur, il faisait toujours un froid glacial, mais j'ai r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 ne pas le remarquer jusqu'\u00e0 ce que mes mains et mes pieds soient glac\u00e9s. J'\u00e9tais compl\u00e8tement sous l'ambiance magique de la \u2018d\u00e9coration\u2019 int\u00e9rieure : chaque pi\u00e8ce avait un th\u00e8me diff\u00e9rent et diff\u00e9rentes sculptures de glace ou diff\u00e9rents motifs \/ images grav\u00e9s sur le mur. Sans oublier l\u2019originalit\u00e9 de la chapelle et du bar de glace ou du grand toboggan !<\/p>

Ce qui est \u00e9galement extraordinaire, c\u2019est que chaque ann\u00e9e l\u2019h\u00f4tel de glace est reconstruit avec des d\u00e9corations compl\u00e8tement diff\u00e9rentes. Je ne sais pas o\u00f9 ils trouvent toutes ces inspirations incroyables, mais j'ai juste h\u00e2te de revenir et de voir les nouveaux th\u00e8mes d\u2019ann\u00e9e en ann\u00e9e.<\/p>

L'autre chose que j\u2019adore dans l'h\u00f4tel de glace, c'est que vous pouvez prendre un bon cocktail ou une boisson dans un vrai verre de glace au bar. Et vous pouvez vous asseoir \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 d'une grande chemin\u00e9e int\u00e9rieure ou \u00e0 l'ext\u00e9rieur sur un gla\u00e7on pendant que vous prenez votre verre.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Le num\u00e9ro 2 sur ma liste d\u2019incontournables, c\u2019est le tra\u00eeneau \u00e0 chiens. Vous voyez, J'ADORE les chiens et je saisis toutes les chances de les voir, de les toucher ou d'\u00eatre pr\u00e8s d'eux. Il \u00e9tait donc normal que j\u2019essaie le tra\u00eeneau \u00e0 chiens.<\/p>

Au d\u00e9but, je m'inqui\u00e9tais de tout le concept de l'utilisation de chiens pour un travail aussi dur. Mais apr\u00e8s la premi\u00e8re visite dans une pourvoirie (un lieu o\u00f9 ils gardent et \u00e9l\u00e8vent les chiens de tra\u00eeneau - huskies, malamute, etc.), j'ai bien compris que ce genre de \u2018travail\u2019 est un pur plaisir pour ces chiens. Astuce PRO : la plupart des endroits ont des chiots (toute l'ann\u00e9e), donc apr\u00e8s votre excursion en tra\u00eeneau, vous avez toujours la chance de jouer avec eux. De plus, pendant votre visite, vous ferez une pause de quelques minutes afin de pouvoir caresser les chiens attach\u00e9s au tra\u00eeneau.<\/p>

J\u2019ai d\u00e9j\u00e0 essay\u00e9 cette activit\u00e9 hivernale \u00e0 2 endroits diff\u00e9rents (au Lac Beauport et \u00e0 Stoneham) et les deux exp\u00e9riences \u00e9taient diff\u00e9rentes. Cela d\u00e9pend de votre timing et de votre int\u00e9r\u00eat mais je ne peux que recommander les deux endroits. Winter is a kind of season that everyone sees differently. Some people like it, some people hate the cold weather. In my opinion, it depends on where in the world you experience this magical season. Let me share with you my feelings and experiences about winter as a person, who lived in different countries during the years. Childhood memories You might not know but I was born in Hungary and I have great childhood memories about the winter time over there. I still remember that I loved the show because we could play for hours outside with my friends.\u00a0 In Hungary, we used to have a lot of snow and always had a white Christmas when I was a child. It used to be very cold as well, it wasn\u2019t so unusual to have -10 or -20 \u00b0C as the lowest temperature. Hungary is quite a poor country and when I was a child, winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, etc were considered as a luxury sport. Nobody really had the money for ski equipment and the slopes were not as well developed as they are today. Besides, Hungary is quite a flat country, the highest peak is 1014m. Us, kids, we were mainly left with the sledding and snowball fights. Adulthood As the years went by and I left my country, I was busy with life so I didn\u2019t really notice that the winters have changed in Europe drastically. They became milder and milder each year and we barely have snow now. Also, the winter in Europe is very humid so we are left with the temperature that feels much colder than it really is because of the humidity. Winter in the UK My first time \u2018abroad winter\u2019 was in England. And to be honest, I don\u2019t remember seeing any snow there during the time I spent in Woodstock\/Oxford. It was the typical weather as England is famous about : rain, rain, rain and some more rain … When I look back in time, I have to say that I have some beautiful memories of snow in Scotland (where I lived for more than 1 year). The whole climate is different there, so the winter is not so snowy either. But when they have show, it is very magical. It was funny to see the palm trees decorated everywhere around Christmas time. And after all, not having winter clothes and shoes to put on but instead the sandals and flip flops was actually quite nice. Oh boy, and was I disappointed? Not at all! Just couldn\u2019t stop taking photos. Again, we had a beautiful sunny day, although we felt the warmth of the sun only outside of the Ice Hotel. And you can sit beside a great indoor fireplace or outside on an ice cube while you are having your drink. Dog sledding Number 2 on my list is the dog sledding. You see, I LOVE dogs and I grab every chance to see, touch or be near them. So it was only normal that I had to try dog sledding. In the beginning I had concerns about the whole concept of using dogs for such hard work. But after the first visit in a \u2018pourvoirie\u2019 (a place where they keep and raise the sledding dogs – huskies, malamute, etc.), I fully understood that this kind of \u2018job\u2019 is a pure pleasure for these dogs. They get so excited to pull the sledge that sometimes it\u2019s even hard to stop them while they are running.\u00a0 PRO Tip : most of the places have puppies (all year around), so after your sledding tour, you always get a chance to play with them. Also, during your tour, you will take a few minutes break so you can pet the dogs attached to the sledge. I\u2019ve already tried this winter activity in 2 different places (at Lac Beauport and at Stoneham) and both of the experiences were different. It depends on your timing and your interest but I can only recommend both places. Everyone is so nice and they are happy to answer your questions. In Stoneham, I actually took a combined tour with a helicopter ride after the sledding and let me tell you that was a whole new level. Monymusk – Scotland Monymusk – Scotland Winter in Switzerland After Scotland, I moved to Switzerland where I got back to the same climate that I used to have in Hungary. Well, almost \u2026\u00a0 Swiss winters are actually very nice if you live in the mountains. But if you live on the \u2018plateau\u2019, somewhere in a town that is somewhere between 300 and 500 m of altitude, then you don\u2019t get much snow either. Lac du Joux Lac du Joux I still remember the first time I moved up to the Swiss mountains (at around 1000 m altitude), right in the first year, we had so much snow that in some days it was a bit hard to cope with. It was snowing non-stop for a week. And once it stopped, I could barely see the surrounding buildings. Previous Next It was in Switzerland where I learned to ski after all. Well, it was in Switzerland and France. You see, here, you can easily hop on the ski lift in Switzerland and end up skiing in France. The Swiss\/French Alps are a great place to learn and to perfect your technique any way. It was also in Switzerland where I tried ice skating for the first time \u2026 It was so much fun with friends and let\u2019s just say that I still need a lot of practicing. Skiing in the Jura Ice skating in Lausanne As much as I enjoyed my newly learned winter sport, for some reason I started to feel a resistance toward the winter and its temperature. Looking back now, I think it\u2019s mainly because of the humidity during winter time. I started to do more indoor activities during winter because in Switzerland there is not much to do unless you go up to the mountains for some kind of winter sports.\u00a0 Winter in Florida A few years after living in Switzerland, I met my husband and right after we got married we had the opportunity to go and live in Florida for a while. For the first time, I was so happy to leave the real winter behind us and just enjoy the warm weather in the Sunshine State of the United States. I\u2019ve sworn that I don\u2019t want to deal with the winter cold and snow ever again in my life \u2026 Winter in Florida turned out to be very different at the first time. It was funny to see the palm trees decorated everywhere around Christmas time. And after all, not having winter clothes and shoes to put on but instead the sandals and flip flops was actually quite nice. We did manage to see some fake snow here and there though : Fake snow in Celebration Fake snow in West Palm Beach Fake snow in Celebration Winter in Canada Little as I knew, someone up there has decided that nice and warm weather for us is over for the winter time. This time we got the opportunity to move up to Canada. The first thing that I said is ok, but I want to see first how the real Canadian winter is, as at that time I was still convinced that I don\u2019t want to live in a place with a real winter again.\u00a0 You see, in Europe, Canada actually has quite a reputation because of the long, cold winter and way too much snow. As it turned out, it\u2019s not that bad at all! I was very surprised to see so many people outside doing all kinds of winter activities (even when the temperature was as low as -20 \u00b0C).\u00a0 Montreal Winter clothes shopping Winter in Quebec I was really surprised how much I loved our first visit to Canada during winter time. Maybe because we were lucky and we had a lot of sunny days (and as we know, sunshine makes everything much better).\u00a0 But don\u2019t worry, if it\u2019s getting that cold after the sun goes down, you just go and find one of the many outdoor fireplaces and warm up a bit. The first thing that I noticed is that even if I see our thermometer showing some really low temperature, it\u2019s not as cold as I thought. In Europe, I used to be cold a lot because we have the humid kind of winter. But in Canada, even if the temperature is lower than we used to have in Europe, I noticed that the air is drier so it doesn\u2019t feel that cold after all.\u00a0 After visiting different places in Canada I have to say that this statement isn\u2019t quite right everywhere. You see, Canada is a huge country (it even has 4 different time zones). So having a dry winter is true on the east coast, more precisely up until Quebec City – \u2018ish\u2019. What I noticed is that the weather is different even in Montreal. Usually it\u2019s about 5 \u00b0C warmer and during winter they have less snow than in Quebec City. If you go further towards Toronto and the west coast, it gets more humid and milder.\u00a0 So after we decided to go for our opportunity and change the Florida winter for the Quebec winter, another thing just hit me : I missed the snow so much! It didn\u2019t occur to me until the real Canadian snowfall : I missed watching it from inside.\u00a0I completely forgot how magical the winter and snow covered landscape can be. Since then, I\u2019m just ever so grateful for our time in Quebec. It gave me back my love for winter and snow. It introduced me to many winter sports and activities that I\u2019ve never thought that I would enjoy so much. My favourite winter activities in Quebec Ice Hotel There is no question about the number one winter activity in Quebec for me : it\u2019s definitely a visit to the Ice Hotel. It\u2019s something I\u2019ve never seen in my life and I truly believe that it should be on everyone\u2019s bucket list. I still remember how excited I was for days before the first time I visited. Oh boy, and was I disappointed? Not at all! Just couldn\u2019t stop taking photos. Again, we had a beautiful sunny day, although we felt the warmth of the sun only outside of the Ice Hotel. Inside, it was still freezing cold but somehow I managed to not notice it until my hands and feet were ice cold. I was completely under the magical ambiance of the inside \u2018decoration\u2019 : each room had a different theme and different ice sculptures or different patterns\/images carved on the wall. And I haven\u2019t mentioned the chapel and the ice bar or the big slide yet! My absolute favourite part about the Ice Hotel is that they make it a completely different experience each and every year. I have no idea where they find all these amazing inspirations but I just can\u2019t wait to return and see the new themes every year. The other thing I love about the Ice Hotel is that you can grab a nice cocktail or drink in a real ice glass at the bar. And you can sit beside a great indoor fireplace or outside on an ice cube while you are having your drink. Dog sledding Number 2 on my list is the dog sledding. You see, I LOVE dogs and I grab every chance to see, touch or be near them. So it was only normal that I had to try dog sledding. In the beginning I had concerns about the whole concept of using dogs for such hard work. But after the first visit in a \u2018pourvoirie\u2019 (a place where they keep and raise the sledding dogs – huskies, malamute, etc.), I fully understood that this kind of \u2018job\u2019 is a pure pleasure for these dogs. They get so excited to pull the sledge that sometimes it\u2019s even hard to stop them while they are running.\u00a0 PRO Tip : most of the places have puppies (all year around), so after your sledding tour, you always get a chance to play with them. Also, during your tour, you will take a few minutes break so you can pet the dogs attached to the sledge. I\u2019ve already tried this winter activity in 2 different places (at Lac Beauport and at Stoneham) and both of the experiences were different. It depends on your timing and your interest but I can only recommend both places. Everyone is so nice and they are happy to answer your questions. In Stoneham, I actually took a combined tour with a helicopter ride after the sledding and let me tell you that was a whole new level. It was amazing to see the frozen world below us, especially because we had a great sunny day. Another PRO Tip : if you go for a dog sledding, dress up even warmer than usual. You can imagine the experience just like riding a bike : you\u2019ll always have wind in your face. Valcartier Winter Playground Another great experience is to have a day just like when you were a child. Spending a day in the Valcartier Winter Playground will definitely bring you back some memories from your childhood and to make some new ones for your adult life. There are many possible ways to enjoy the day, including but not limited to snow tubing, snow rafting, ice skating and having a great indoor lunch at one of the on-site restaurants. Or you can even finish the day in the spa located in the Valcartier Village complex.\u00a0 Final words There are so many great activities and events in Quebec for everyone during winter that is incredible.
