Driving around Quebec City
Quebec City has a lot to offer but once we step outside of town, we’ll discover a whole new world. Take a ride with us and see the beautiful countryside.
In this post, we’ll show you a glimpse of the places where we can take you for a driving tour during your visit. Please note that there are some places that are available for a visit only in certain seasons.

The Montmorency Falls Park
Only a 15 minutes drive from Old Quebec City, this park offers you not only a lots of activities but a spectacular view of the falls and the Île d’Orléans (and its bridge).
Some of the activities :
- gondola ride to the top to admire the view
- via ferrata and zipline
- walking down the 487 steps that gives you different angles of the falls and a unique opportunity to take spectacular photos
- a culinary experience in the Manoir Restaurant
- visiting the beautiful garden of the Manoir Montmorency
Did you know that the Montmorency Falls with its 83 meters (272 ft) is 30 meters (98,4 ft) taller than the Niagara Falls?
Île d'Orléans
The island is located in the St. Lawrence River, just about 5 km east of downtown Quebec City. It’s a short, 15 minutes drive from the town center.
The island is known as ‘Garden of Quebec’ because the local agriculture is producing a lot of vegetables, fruits, wine, etc. Some of the farms are open for the visitors so you can visit the manufacturing and taste some of the products as well.
Did you know that Île d’Orléans was one of the first parts of the province to be colonized by the French in 1535?
Nowadays, the island attracts more than 600,000 visitors each year.
Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré
The basilica is located 30 km east of Quebec City. It is an important Catholic sanctuary, which receives about a half-million pilgrims each year. The peak period of pilgrimage is around July 26, the feast of Saint Anne, the patron saint of sailors.
Did you know that the Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré is one of the five national shrines of Canada and it has been credited by the Catholic Church with many miracles of curing the sick and disabled?
Wendake - Huron village
Wendake is an Amerindian reserve located in the Quebec region, about 20 minutes drive from downtown Quebec City. At the head of Wendake is the huronne-wendat National Council and it’s lead by a Grand Chief and six small chiefs. The current Grand Chief is Konrad Sioui.
It’s a fascinating story you will learn during your visit.
Did you know that Huron-Wendat village is one of the Seven Nations of Canada and the current population of the Indian reserve is about 1300 persons.

Quebec City’s newest gourmet food destination. You have the unique opportunity to interact directly with the producers and processors, meet locals and taste great products.
